Area Guide · Istanbul Asian Side

Üsküdar, Istanbul

Historic Asian shoreline with the best skyline views in the city.

Üsküdar faces the historic peninsula across the Bosphorus. The view from here is the most photographed in the city. Mosques, minarets and the old city, framed by water. It is also one of Istanbul's oldest continuously inhabited districts, conservative in character and strongly residential.

Shoreline regeneration and the Marmaray rail link have made it far more accessible. The skyline views keep waterfront stock scarce, and valuable.
