Sarıyer is the green northern end of Istanbul's European shore, where the Bosphorus opens into the Black Sea and the Belgrad Forest covers much of the interior. It holds the city's most private residential enclaves, from the hills above Bebek to the villa neighbourhoods of Zekeriyaköy, Kemerburgaz and Uskumruköy.
