Küçükçekmece, Istanbul
Between a lake and the Marmara, on the western side's main transport corridor.
Küçükçekmece stretches between its namesake lagoon and the Sea of Marmara, on the western half of Istanbul's European side. The lake is the centre of it: a broad sheet of water opening to the sea, with a shore park, a promenade and fishing piers along its edge. Around the water it is settled, fully serviced city, and Türkiye's address-based register counted 785,270 residents here in 2025.
Rail is what sets the district apart. Halkalı is the western terminus of Marmaray, the M11 metro has linked the same interchange to Istanbul Airport since June 2026, and the Metrobüs and the E-5 cross the district on their way into the centre. We represent three projects here: Kırımlı Park, finished and lived in on the lake shore; Kırımlı Cadde, minutes from the water and delivering on 30 August 2026; and Hayat Flora, a 21-block neighbourhood rising at Halkalı.

What defines the district
A lake on one side, the sea on the other
The Küçükçekmece lagoon opens to the Marmara, and the shore park along its edge carries a promenade, a playground and fishing piers.
The western side's rail hub
Halkalı is Marmaray's western terminus, and since June 2026 the M11 metro has run from the same interchange to Istanbul Airport and on to Gayrettepe.
A teaching hospital and two universities
The state Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi (training and research hospital) stands at Halkalı, and İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi at Sefaköy and İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim Üniversitesi at Halkalı give the district two campuses of its own.
Three projects, three ways in
Kırımlı Park is ready to move on the lake shore, Kırımlı Cadde delivers on 30 August 2026 minutes from the water, and Hayat Flora rises at Halkalı with the sea and the lake in its outlook.
Getting around
Connectivity
- Marmaray starts west from Halkalı: one train runs through the historic peninsula and under the Bosphorus to Üsküdar without a change, and continues along the Asian shore to Gebze.
- The M11 metro links Halkalı to Istanbul Airport and on to Gayrettepe, in service along its full length since June 2026, and the high-speed line toward Edirne and the European rail network is under construction from the same interchange.
- The Metrobüs crosses the district along the E-5 on its way into the centre, with the TEM within reach to the north.
Who it suits. Families who want water, green and a settled district on the western side, and buyers choosing between ready to move on the lake shore and off-plan at Halkalı.
